If you have your C1 lorry licence PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Ok here's the deal

I'm trying to get my C1 lorry licence to drive my horse lorry however I'm not sure what theory I need to sit. When I had a look to try and book a theory test it just came up with the full Cat C test. When I tried to e-mail them about it I got the message back with a link showing me where I can book my theory, and no explanation about what test I need to sit. When I tried to phone them all I seem to get are the recorded messages and never seem to be able to get through to talk to someone. So I really hope someone on here will be able to help me.

Do I sit my full C theory test for a C1 licence, even though I'm not old enough to get a full C licence, or do I not need to sit a theory test at all???

Whew, been a few years since I did mine :D

I *think* you do the "LGV Theory Test" as it's the same theory test for all LGV's (C, C1, C+E and C1+E).

I vaguely remember having to know stuff about how to hitch up a truck and trailer unit and which wire goes to which, even though I didn't plan on driving artics anyway.

Hope this helps - you should be able to check it on the DSA or DVLA websites :)

Have tried to look on the websites but just wanted to ask people who have been through it as I find it odd that I'm having to do the theory for C despite the fact that I'm not old enough to get the C licence.
 
It's the cat c test, and yes you need to know about arctic coupling and all sorts of other rubbish which doesn't apply.
Watch out, as I booked the theory -assuming that was all I needed.
Then when I went to sit it I was asked by a jobsworth whether I was sitting the hazard perception test? I replied, "I'm doing the theory for the C1 test". He said you need the HPT, which is the same for a lorry as it is for the car, but for a lorry it is a separate test which has to be booked in advance.

So to cut a long story short, book the C theory & the HPT as you need to pass both before booking your C1 practical.
I found both quite easy to pass, even though I had to go back a 2nd time to do the HPT, as they couldn't possibly just fit me in!
