If you put up mobile stables, can you be forced to move them all the time?

The planners who originally said the site for my stables was fine (in writing, no less) have now decided that they think the site is too close to 3rd party houses, which is quite annoying as I'd have sited them elsewhere if they'd said!

Anyway, I was wondering if I get a set of mobile stables, can the council force me to move them all the time?

They would be on skids and therefore technically moveable etc. but I simply have not got time to move them every 28 days!

Can anyone enlighten me?

In many cases planning departments are demanding that mobile stables require planning permission.
I most certainly would comply with what they are asking you to do as otherwise enforcement will oblige you to remove them.

Did you get actual planning permission for them? if so they cant make you alter it?

if not it isnt worth the paper it's written on, councils always get away with advising stuff is ok and then having cold feet!

Re: mobile stables yes they can make you move it however often they specify (and can also specify a period within which it cant return to the same spot). They can even decide to regard mobile stables on skids as not mobile at all and still require PP (whatever the sellers of the stables say). It helps if the stables have no floor. Wheels are seen as more mobile than skids.

Is the reason its too late to put them elsewhere because youve put in groundworks already?

No, the planning was for a big block of permanent stables. I could resubmit the application but not sure where to resite TBH.

The million dollar question is how far do they make you move it and how often?

i had a yard with mobile stables on them, 7yrs later not one of the stables has been moved.
Suppose it depends on much fuss your neighbours make. Mine were all mates and horsey so no issues

To be honest, unless you just cant bear the wait/discussions I would def try to find somewhere to put them that meets the council concerns. Not only because then you arent in a 'grey area' (which it is!) from a planning point of view which is never a comfortable place to be when you've paid £££s for something they could tell you to remove, but also because it would add massively to the value of the place if the stables were there with PP as permanent stables. So even if you have to put them not in ideal place I would persevere if you possibly can!
