what would you do.

The saddle in question is quite unique and hard to come across as so old. I have asked for more details (I do have the serial number for mine). The person selling is also not a million miles away either.

Do I give my suspicions to the police, or wait and see if they will give me the further details I have asked for to confirm (it has been 24 hours and no response).

I really really want this saddle back, as it was just old but perfect and MINE, but would hate to accuse someone that is totally innocent and it is mine just coincidence.

Involve the police, if the saddle is not yours, they will soon be able to prove that as you have the serial number. I'm sure no genuine seller would mind your clarifying the situation.

Great that you have the serial number as it will confirm it one way or another. Definitely get the police involved. I wouldn't hang around, it might get sold

Definitely worth it! Won't do any harm if you don't know the person! And if it isn't your saddle and its all just a misunderstanding surely the seller will be understanding, saddles are expensive and if its hard to come by then they should understand your concerns.

Depending on where not a million miles away is you could ask someone else to go and look at the saddle, checking for serial numbers, identifying marks etc. If it's a bit south of you I'll happily volunteer.

If it checks out as yours then the Police need to be called.

Contact the police now, they will advise you. Don't waste time getting more details or risk alerting the seller to your concerns.

I would phone up & ask to go & view the saddle. If when you get there it turns out not to be your saddle then just say saddle's not suitable or wouldn't fit or something. If you know it is your saddle phone police immediately. If it is your saddle, not sure I would alert the seller of anything though in case the seller may be the person who stole it or is involved in some way.
