If you were asked to sell a horse on behalf of someone...

I have sold quite a few horses on other peoples behalf and I ALWAYS care about who they go to- if I am looking after a horse I always get attached to it even if it's not my kind of horse. I had a bit of a problem last summer as I had a 16.2 ex racer mare and the "chav family from hell" came to see her. Bloke gets on in his trainers (in the arena though!) and immediately clamps his legs..... Need I go on? Anyway, after I had grabbed poor scared mare and calmed her, moved Mr Chav's feet and walked her around the ring a few times they said that they wanted to buy her. Unfortunately as it was not my horse and I knew my friend was desperate to sell I wasn't sure what to do. They said on the phone that they had been riding for 20 and 25 years..... Turned out ok as Mrs Chav "apparently" broke her leg the next day trying another horse and they decided not to buy.

I think that if someone entrusts their horse to you then you owe it to owner and horse to see it goes to the right place. If horse turns out to be awful and evil and would send it back rather than try to palm it off on someone.

Yes I would, If it was the other way around I would like to know if the home isn't suitable.

So if you knew someone hammered horses into the ground - although well fed and looked after in the stable stakes would you still sell the horse to them?

Now you see that would be a matter of opinion possibly? I think i would talk to the owner of the horse about that. One person's idea of hammering them into the ground might be anothers idea of medium work!
