If you've had a horse that was 14.2hh at 4yo.. Did it grow?

- and what did it grow to?

My homebred is coming home today very unexpectedly from her loan home, I'm debating whether it's worth holding out looking for another (which I've done with no luck for a few months) and seeing if she grows abit more as initially it seemed she was always going to be too small for me.
Ideally I need 15-15.2hh.

I will be watching this. My New Forest mare is 4 and stands at 13.3hh I am sure she looks a little bum high and would love it if I could get another inch out of her.

My coloured Alfie, at 3 stood at 13hh just, by 4 was 14hh.

Now at 5 he is standing at 15.1hh.

He wasn't expected to make 14hh bet passported him at 13.3hh. Need to get that changed lol!

When billy was 4 he was 171cm, now as at 7 he is 173cm!

Not all grow as expected (luckily in my case!) but if still bum high and weak good chances are will grow another few inches :)

31/2 13.1hh if I remember correctly

Just 15hh in summer this year

Now standing 15.1hh on last measurement and still looking lanky so I do to think he's done yet.

Thankyou :) he was rather an ugly duckling, and now he seems to be heading back into a lanky phase all over again lol. He's a welsh Dx so very likely he won't finish fully until around 7/8. However I highly doubt he will put on another hand....I hope lol!

Well.. What a coincidence.. Mines also a Welsh Dx

This is from the summer (not me riding- I'm about 3 inches taller than this rider)

She's lovely! Alfie's growth spurts have been quite sudden and extreme. I've really struggled with him keeping weight during a growth spurt he goes up so far so fast it's ridiculous.

When he was only 13hh at 3 I seriously considered selling I had him from 6 months old but I genuinely didn't think he would get big enough.

I had to sell him at 4 for personal reasons but he came back in may this year and he won't be going anywhere ever again. Just can't believe how huge he has got!

Mine was about 13.2/13.3 as a 2 year old... shes now 3 and around 14.1.14.2hh (16 months later) all approx but shes defo grown and is filling out :)

shes bum high again now so i recon she will make 15hh easy :) but she will be a fine 15hh ... ideally i needed a 15.2 but shes just turned 3 so i recon she might.......!

:)

This all gives me hope. My mate is 14.1hh at front end and 14.2hh at the back end. She's 5yo so hoping she'll at least level out or grow a touch more :-)

I think Rosie was 14.1hh at 3yrs old and 14.2hh at 4yrs onwards!! And now at 20yrs old she's shrinking! I'd have rather she'd have made 15hh like her dam or 15.1hh like her sire, but actually, it didn't matter at all and we've had a blast!!

what breed is she?

VFS mine never leveled out she is still a tad bum high at rising 7 and as a native type I don't think she will grow anymore

She's a sec D x
- I don't know her dad's breeding, I can only assume he was a coloured cob of some type as she's quite stocky and she's coloured. Her mum wasn't the best stamp of a D (although was a full Sec D).
She was a bogof without me realising she was In foal.

Oh lord! My fiend has an 8 mth old WB filly who stands at 14'2! Mum & Dad (Peppermill) stood at 16'1. Will she make the same do you think?

Does anyone know how old New Forest ponies are when they mature? Mine is 4 and a half and 13.3hh. Still looks gangly so hoping there is another inch at least to go x

My fellow was 14 at 4 and is now around 14.1 at 5. I hope he will get to 14.2 or even 14.3, but no matter if he doesn't as he is plenty wide enough. He doesn't look gangly or foaly so perhaps he has stopped.
