All of you who travel your horses without a partition...where do you hang the haynet?

At the moment, travelling with the partition, I have sort of rigged up something so the net hangs halfway across the top part of the jockey door..but I guess travelling with no partitions it needs to be more central? Not sure he would reach if I tied it in the nose....

If you secure the breast bar in the most forward of the three possible positions, could he reach the hay net then? I'm about to trial travelling without a partition in my 510, and was planning on doing that.
I'm not sure...I was standing there looking at it this morning and thinking...the nose is really far away!

I know, all that extra length over the 505! I'm going to use an XL haynet fully stuffed with hay. It will also be easier to have an even length of cross ties if the hay net is tied centrally rather than off to one side.

Unless your horse is a midget he'll be able to reach the net if you tie it to the front. if you're worried he can't reach it, you can tie a second string from the side tie ring to the bottom of the net and pull/tighten it back so that it is suspended - a bit like a hammock.

Yes but what’s wrong with that , I have no partition either just full length breach bars .
Well....because you should cross tie a horse when you aren't using a partition and they won't be able to reach the sides....so the haynet needs to be more central.

I've got home made versions of those e bay hay net fixings. They work well when the partition is in place so that the horse is already standing on one side of the trailer.

I'd rather not use them when the partition is out, as I want to cross tie the horse standing centrally with equal length ties, not one short tie and one long tie. I'm hoping that tying to the front will work.

The IDx is a good traveller, but if she can't easily reach her hay net there will be tantrums .

I tie the haynet in the nose. Then I have a bit of baler twine on one of the tie-up points, with a carabiner clip on the end of it. I clip the carabiner to the haynet so it's pulled forwards and is more easily accessible to the horse. It does mean I need one cross tie looser than the other but it seems to work fine.
