Well I went to move my horses to new yard at the weekend and found a large mushroom growing very happily form the side panel of my Ifor williams 505 trailer! I'm not happy as trailer always been stored under cover apart from the past month and never seen any sign of damp before now, only 2006 so not ancient! anyway investigations show its a bit soft from where the roof joins the side down to the breech bar attachment for about a square foot. Obviously side will have to be replaced but has anyone done this? How much can I expect it to cost and would it be a job my DIY friendly Dad could do or is it a dealership effort? If the worst came to the worst I'd probably trade it in rather than pay for massive repair bills!
Ta!

You can buy the panels and do it yourself, but our shop is next to a trailer shop and I've watched them do this job, it seems to be more long winded than you'd think! I'm in a similar situation and will be getting a quote from the Trailer Medic before I decide what to do.

Oh no, am worried now. Mine is 2004, keep it outside (no choice). Will be investigating it. I wonder how many this has happened to. Sorry OP, no advice.

Both sides of mine have rotted at the bottom, it is behind the mud guard so I think water goes down there and can't dry out as well as it can in other areas. I got a quote from Ivor Williams for replacing them but can't remember how much it was - I think each panel was about £200 but I could be way out and that didn't include any labour, just the panels.

I have rubber wall mats on the inside and only use the trailer now for getting hay/straw/other deliveries so in the end didn't have them replaced. A friend's son who is good at DIY stuff was going to replace them for me and as they are already cut to shape I don't think it is a very difficult job. It would be worth getting it done as selling it with the problem would devalue the trailer far more than getting it done, but I know what you mean - I hate sorting out things like this!

My dad replaced a panel for me. He reckoned the water had got in from the seal at the top. The panel was about $300 from ifor williams and took about three months to be delivered. Terrible service. Took him a few days to replace most the time was took up with removing rotten bolts.
