Currently after a new trailer (up-sizing from my old Ifor Williams 505 which sold today). When I mentioned this to my saddler he said that he would not recommend the new 511s, as having bought one himself he has apparently had numerous issues with it. He believes that the 511s are being manufactured somewhere new and so thinks the 510s are better made (indeed, our 2005 505 has lasted us well, been stored outside and never had any problems with it- sad to see it go really!).

So just after your opinions!

They have had issues with the 511s mainly with plastic bits snapping that used to be metal. It sauys a lot that oldser 510s make more money secondhand than the earlier 511s. My local agents have a waiting list for 510s and several 511s in stock.
Are you looking for new? As if you are the nugent is worth looking at as they use stainless steel for a lot of there fittings and they have a superior suspension system ,I nearly bought one but ended up with a bargain equitrek.

I bought a 511 brand new. Fabulous trailer. It's all about how you look after them for me. I used mine regularly. Never had anything break. The only downside I would say is the built in tack pack that goes on the door. I didn't have this but I also bought a 506 which had one and the weight does strain the door.

I got a proper IW tack pack on wheels for my 511.

Traded in my 505 for the 511 and hate it! The latches look cheap and nasty. Bought it new 4 years ago and had a few problems at the beginning. It is nice to tow though!

I like the 511 personally, as does my horse in preference to the 510. I've not found any issues with it.
This. Think you have to get a newer 511 model as they had a few hitches when they first came out. But I prefer my 511 as its smoother and quieter.

I like the new latches. I've not spoken to anyone who doesn't.

I was told by my dealer to hold the latch in the open position to fasten it not to just slam it as it would damage it. Common sense really!!!!

I have a 510 and I'm very pleased with it but a friend who has upgraded to the 511 says he wishes he hadn't as they're not as well made
