ifor williams box

You wont get 2 on a 3.5 ton unless they are ponies. There are 2 diff size containers they do the bigger one can take a 16.2 at a push but the one i drove 2 horses in was a 6 tonner as the chassis was bigger. It drove lovely, they do have steep ramps tho in and out when on a chassis and it can be tricky unloading as you need to swing the partition over to get a horse out ( while one horse is still in there ).

They can make good boxes if put on the right chassis as long as they arent big horses.

I had an ancient Ifor Williams box on a Transit chassis about 6 years ago. The ramps were very steep as the box unit had to be high enough on the chassis for the luton to clear the cab. Made putting the ramp up on your own almost impossible.

I think the newer style IW boxes are more lightweight allround, though have only seen them on VW or Mercedes chassis these days.

I only used mine for carrying one pony. The weight of 2 horses in a 3.5ton would be suspect.
