thanks everyone who offered advice on this, i at last seem to have had a break thru! with plenty of polos to keep her occupied, I pull back the partition to the side, untie her, and then, making her stay in the box (which she doesnt mind - haynet v v v tasty), i step out, so that I am to the side of the ramp. i then give her her head, and she steps daintily down! so her prob was not so much a lack of manners, but more a case of being very conscious that she might crush me as she comes out! i am soooooooooooooooo relieved!!!!
