Ifor Williams HB401/403

Hi
Does anyone know when the HB401 stopped being manufactured and what year they started to make the HB403 please?

Also, I am after a replacement for my HB401, as it’s 1998, 22 years old.....still in really good working order but someone told me the newer model aren’t as well made as the older model and therefore do I trade in or not...?

I would keep the old one if it still meets your needs and is sound.

The 401/505/510s were manufactured up to 2008. The Mark 1 403/506/511s were poor, they had a flimsy fibreglass front and mould issues. The Mark 2’s are better, but I still prefer my yr 2006 510 Classic.

The new HBX 403 with a stronger construction is much better again, but they’ve not been out for long, maybe a year or so, so they are still spendy even if you can find one second hand. This is what I will likely upgrade to.
