I'm looking to buy a 2000 model Ifor Williams HB505. The trailer seems fine all round, it doesn't have a wooden floor, but the lady said it was a poly-something flooring (I can't now remember). Does anyone know what this is, and whether this is similar to an aluminum flooring. Also she wants £2250, I thought I'd offer £2000 - What do you think. Advice welcome

Rice Richardson use plastic floors, perhaps this is the same.

Not sure I would buy it to be honest. Trailers are designed around the materials they intend to use. Ifor trailers may not be designed for plastic floors (number and position of supports for example) Check it out before you buy.

For that price for a 12 year old trailer you should be able to pick one up with a good aluminium floor.

Sounds expensive to me, perhaps the owner has spent a fortune on the floor :D :D

I think the poly-something floor is plastic coated wood. I've just had this put on my old Bahill back ramp. My reliable 'trailer man' said it's what they re-furbish Ifor Williams wooden floors with.

I would look on e-bay to see what 505's of that age are going for.
Hope you get fixed up!

I have an older Ifor, perhaps 2002, and it has an aluminium floor. It's in top condition for its age (just some fading of the paint) and I'd be extremely happy if I thought I'd get £2k for it. I'll be selling in a few months so perhaps will revise my expectations upward!

Wooden floors are fine if looked after - and here in lies the problem. People simply cannot be bothered. I have know aluminium floors give way on the rivets - so please don't think they are fail safe - they are not. ALL floors need regular checks and trailers should have a thorough annual service.
