I have a bulldog hitchlock on my rice but collect my ifor 510 next weej which has a lockable tow hitch inbuilt so

Is a wheel clamp enough (which comes with the trailer) do you trust the mechanism on the hitch or buy a bulldog to put on top?

My friend has a wheel clamp I can have too, different style to what is on there, would 2 wheel clamps be overkill?

Didnt really worry about my old rice but this is a rather more expensive trailer!

We had a wheel clamp on ours... Mum hitched up last week and forgot to take it off... The clamp just snapped off  :o now we just have the lock that's already on the hitch that stops you using it.

I'd definitely use the Bulldog on your new trailer! The inbuilt ones are better than nothing but I don't think they're totally secure. I also think insurance companies want something like the Bulldog. I'd put the wheelclamp on too- just to be sure!!!

Have the hitch lock, and two wheel locks on mine, one on each axle either side of the trailer. One is a Bulldog, the other is another well known high security model. Bit of overkill I know, but we have had them all stolen off our yard in the past. 4 went overnight. Obviously a well organised event. We now have CCTV on the livery yard, and my trailer is the previous version, but old habits die hard :D

Ok so...intrigued as to why, when looking on ebay, there are so mane sets of bulldog keys being sold.....surely a pre meditating thief simply arms themselves with different brands of keys?

A member of my staff lost a set of keys recently, scarily easy and cheap to replace the likes of till keys etc!

Get it security marked and make sure it is on the IW register. Physical barriers just mean when they do steal it they do more damage IMO. Mine is Smartwater marked, and has labels all over it announcing the fact that it is security marked (I got some from the local Horsewatch organiser). Speak to your local police crime prevention officer - no thief wants to find he has a hot potato on his hands.

I use a wheel clamp, locked security post that trailer hitches to (embedded in concrete) and then a bulldog hitch lock on top. It's also got distinctive logos, but like the idea is getting security marks and labels.... Can never do overkill on trailer security IMO.

Ok thanks. I have the huge postcode printed to put on the roof. Its at our small private yard well hidden with owners on site 24/7 and there are only 4 of us liveries (who will be using the trailer so hopefully discreet as to it being there!)
