Went to look at an Ifor Williams horsebox today. The owner doesn't know how old it is and I couldn't find the serial/chassis number anywhere-does anyone know where they are so I can check?

Also does anyone know when they changed the floor in the containers from wood to aluminium?

Mine has the serial number on a plate screwed onto the tow hitch and the same serial number is also etched on the metal 'V' arm.

I don't know when they changed the floors etc but your local dealer will know. By describing the fixings and type of rubber flooring of mine mine was able to estimate that it was 10yrs old.

Thanks but its the horsebox container, not the trailer. Looked everywhere for the serial number but I can't find it, so I will probably phone Ifor Williams on Monday

Hi I had an Ifor Williams lorry, I never noticed a serial number anywhere on it. It had a very solid smooth wood floor under thick rubber matting. I would think it would be 10 years old now. It had the wood looking sides, unlike the coloured ones on the newer ones.

I bought the first trailers that had the Ali floors and it was 2000 I think, presume the containers would be similar.
Are you thinking of buying a horsebox with a Ifor container on top. Im sure some people love them but the ones Ive seen have very steep ramps and the front unload is very narrow considering how steep they are.
