Ifor Williams trailers - left indicators

Does anybody else have a problem with their left indicator not working on Ifor Williams trailers? Between my friends & I we have had 5 trailers & 4 cars and we all have the same problem even with different car/trailer combinations.

I've even had my trailer looked at & had the problem fixed, which was fine for a few months but it's back to playing up again. The right hand indicator works every time though!

If anyone knows how to solve this any info would be much appreciated.
 
Never had a problem with mine. Is this one of the new trailers? I know there were some problems and they were recalled, but I thought that was all to do with bodywork - haven't heard anyone mention electrics.
 
Mine is a new one but my old 510 had the same problem and my friends have 510s or 505s so they are the old style.
 
What - all 5 of them??? :eek:

was going to say... try checking the manual to see if the LHS indicators have their own pin on the connecting plug - then give it a bit of a cleanup with some emery paper or something to make sure there is a good contact.... but if all of them are dodgy, don't know what to say......
 
My right one was dodgy but I sprayed some WD40 in the socket and it was fine. I have recently had a replacement socket fitted and no probs since
 
I know it does seems really strange! I took my car & trailer to our trailer centre as I wasn't sure which was the culprit and it took him a LONG time to fix it, and he has subsequently had other customers with the same problem. However, like I said it has started playing up again.

Because I know a handful of people with the same problem I was sure others on here would have experienced it too & offer a simple explanation. Perhaps it's the Devon rain or something!
 
The left indicator on my 505 stopped working after I used the spare wheel from the boot of my towing car. Apparently, when the wheel was lifted out the boot it pulled the wire connecting the electrics in the car to the plug on the tow bar. It needed reattaching and has worked fine ever since. Not mechanically minded so explanation a bit ropey!

Have you tried attaching a car to the trailers where you are 100% sure that all electrics on towing car are OK?
