Hi. We have a horse who doesn't seem to be able to balance very well when travelling. We have only travelled her once. It has been suggested that we try her without the partition. If I buy a full length breast bar for the trailer do I need a breeching bar as well? I can't recall having breeching bars in trailers when I was younger.

Definitely get a breeching bar, it will be a good investment. I spent years wondering why my horse wasn't a good loader and had many 'experts' help me.

It was only when some amazing HHO'er suggested it might be a travelling problem and to take out the partition that we solved the loading and travelling problem in one happy journey. Let us know if it works, bet it does!!!

Thank you for your replies. She is 14 years old and we don't know her history. We had one journey to the vets and my OH gave her a really gentle ride but she was trying to fall over going round corners and at 730kg I don't want to risk travelling her if it is unsafe. Will be buying two bars asap.
