Before christmas we brought a boarder collie puppy, he came to us being fed adult dry food and obviously was too much for him and what came out the other end was like water:o,We then put him onto puppy food did get better for a short time then went back to water-like again,so put him on rice... now hes been to the vets and been giving some royal canin feed for senitive stomachs, and the vet told us to give that a for a few days and then try the royal canin meduim junor food... but yet again hes back to being water-like again.
Hes happy jumping around doesnt seem ill or under the weather.. We are planning on going back to vets tomorrow but i just wondered if anyone on here might have an idea what this could be?
thanks x

Has puppy been wormed recently?

Try to take a faeces sample to the vets tomorrow so they can send it to the lab to check for parasites including Giardia.

Ours had it along with blood, turns out she has collitus. She's on nothing but JWB now & only allowed JWB Mini Jacks treats & rawhide as rewards. Gave her a week like that & she's been spot on since :-) Good luck!

Theres no blood but he just cant control it and just is pretty much brown water:o
Yes he was fine on the rice and senitive but the vet did;t want to keep him on the sentitve food cause its was for adult dogs not for growing puppys.
Sorry hes now currently 13 weeks x

I would then be feeding the rice once more until he is completely dry and feeding a low fat/protein food. Obs not forever, but for the short term and as an experiment I would try chappie and introduce in into the rice very gradually once he is completely firm on the rice. And no treats in the meantime.

My pup ended up like this on James Well Beloved... She also ended up on pro-biotic diet to clear her up.
She had become intolerant to JWB, which I discovered after re-introducing a mouthful leaving us back at the vets.
By chance, vets receptionist told me about 'Thenaturaldogfoodcompany' and 4 years later we're still on it. She has a fab coat, solid poos, and never farts :) people are always surprised when they stroke her as she doesn't smell doggy at all ... Good luck, I've been there and it's worrying when they're so little

Well it just seemed odd how the different foods we have tried he still isint right and i mean hes playing and being bouncy and seems healthy but obviously somethings going on inside:o
but thanks for advice hes off to vets at 4... we have never had a dog go to vets so much before and hes only 13weeks  :p

Best get tests run for Giardia and Toxoplasmosis. Both can cause this, farm cats carry these,as do foxes. Why not feed it proper dog food..as in raw natural diet, you could find a huge change for the better. My standby is boiled pasta with some sardines scrunched in ,feed that until normal. Cheaper for you and much better for the dog too.But sdo check out those tests.
