Our whippet and a friend's pug chased a rabbit a couple of days ago. I'll pm you my name and address and you can report me to the boys in blue (good luck getting them to answer the phone!)

Please tell me you are joking?!?!

I appreciate that everyone is entitled to their opinion re hunting but don't come on on an equine hunting section where the majority of people are discussing going on hunts and expect people to take you seriously.

Do you really think the police will be interested in you complaining that a dog (a JRT at that which is much smaller then a fox) attempted to catch a fox but it got away? If they do its no wonder crime is increasing if they focus on petty things like that

Oh dear, I'm sorry to say we've fallen foul of the law again. Our whippet chased a hare across a field today. She didn't catch it, but the intention was there.
This is our second offence in only a few days, and I'm aware that the courts take a dim view of recidivism so I'm prepared for a custodial sentence.
However, I don't think you have to do much housework in prison so maybe it won't be too bad.

I thought it had to be a pack of dogs chasing, not just one...? :p

Well, to be quite honest, I'm not clear as to what the precise law is, but from reading previous posts I gather that if a dog or dogs chase a live quarry, then it, the quarry, must be shot.

However, since I walk the dog unarmed - without even the tiniest pearl-handled pistol about my person - I was unable to comply with this regulation.

I suppose I could keep our energetic whippet on a lead at all times, but I'm not prepared to inflict such an act of cruelty on her.

If you would like send a sae and i will give you directions too. As the police have trouble finding my address unless they have TOM TOM lol

I think that fluffy foxs actually like hunting, as they keep joining in with it! ;)
