Hi Everyone,

My names Kim and I am currently in my 3rd year at University. I am working on a brief that requires me to rename and rebrand the Internation League for the Protection of Horses (ILPH) and was wondering if you could give me some feedback on what you think of the charity?

- Have you heard of it and aware of what they do?

- Have you donated money, if not why not?

- What other equine charities have you heard of or donated to?

- Any ideas on suitable names?

I would be really grateful if you could give me some information!

Thanks Kimxxx

I have to say, I like the name. I do feel that the logo could be updated, but I feel the name should stay.

I donate to the ILPH, Redwings and since Amersham, the Horse Trust.

Good luck with your project

Have heard of it. Donate to it from time to time and get regular newsletters so am aware of what they do.

Would not change the name, but would maybe consider a revamp of the logo but nothing too different from the present one.

I do think that ILPH needs to be careful that they don't be seen as a "commerical" charity like the RSPCA and not interested in small day to day cases where the problem is not neglect but unable to keep a much loved horse for personal reasons.

I mainly donate to the smaller charities who on the whole are far more helpful and this has been my exerience on several occasions.

Having recently asked for help in rehoming an older but healthy mare who was a fantastic bombproof light hack/companion whose owner was in financial difficultly all I received was very negative responses from all the larger charities, including being told to have her shot.

Wood Green and Willows are top of my list due to their assistance with Blaze who is now very happy in her new home.

Heard of them as used to work at head office!
Also donate money to them
I wouldnt change their name - very costly in terms of rebranding every bit of material and it takes a very long time for people to use a new name, as the ILPH core supporter is older people it would not fit with their perception of the ILPH.
I would update the logo to modernise it and reflect the ILPH helping people as much as the equines (so have a person standing with a horse?)
I donate occasionally to other equine charities.
I think like other people have suggested a charity like the ILPH must not get complacent and managing customer service/expectations is key to a successful donor base ie answering phones, following up complaints, being tactful etc...

1 - Yes
2 - Yes
3 - Brooke, Redwings and Bue Cross
4 - I think the one they have is fine

Yes, ILPH
Sorry, but this was mentioned a little while ago, and I believe changing the name would be a huge - and costly - mistake
