I left my horse out rugless last night in 50 mph wind and rain and a thunderstorm...
It was warm when I had finished riding him at 7 pm. So I chucked him out as he was. I woke up in the night racked with guilt...
To be fair though he hasn't had a rug on since the last frosts, and he's getting quite a fluffy coat on him so he should be ok. Still feel mean tho.

I have been lying awake listening to what the ponies are out in! They are in rain sheets, but I think they will be hiding in the field shelter (conscience soother!).

I left mine out as it was quite a nice evening. Other half then came in about 8pm and said he had be asked to leave the wood (he was deer shooting) as it was dangerous?? I said why and he said look out here. It was vertical lightning etc, I hadn't noticed!! Legged it outside, brought horses in. It didn't come to anything, didn't rain all night, turned them out at 6 this morn and the heavens opened and it hasn't stopped yet!! Sods law!!

I've left mine with no rug too, it's windy and has been raining a lot but I'm constantly telling myself he has some shelter and is waterproof! doesn't stop me feeling guilty though!

Ours are all out naked still. If they had any sense they'd have gone into their stables last night (they are free to come and go). But then again maybe not as they tend to use the stables more when it is hot than when it is raining.

Oh mine went out rugless too. It was simply too warm to rug her I thought, since she has grown such a woolly coat and I will be clipping her shortly, where rugs will be on her 24/7 so I want to make the most of her being rugless before the point of 'no return' time starts!
