Im a glutton for punishment!!!!!

I was at work 2 nights ago and received a call from a young girl to say she was walking the streets with her staffy as she could not get her into a rescue and had left it to late in the day to put her in boarding kennels, she was crying and distressed

Obs we are a vets not a rescue (and I happened to be on call)

Basically her boyfriend has been badly attacked in their flat and they left it and moved back with parents as he was to scared to go back, her parents had dogs and his did not like them, so the dog went to a friend temporarily.
They received a call to say they needed to collect dog as friends daughter was ill and she was going to be at hospital alot.
I managed to get the dog into a vets over night to save them sleeping in a car and encouraged them to spey her as she was going to end up in rescue (poss free breeding machine) as we could not offer her space so she was going onto a staffy rescue down the country.
They are a lovely and very young couple and where in tears, and have phoned every day she has been at the vets awaiting space in the kennels, I feel hearlty sorry for them, and so have agreed to KEEP HER HERE

until they find a new rental, the girl said she will gets her first night sleep for weeks knowing she can now keep her (how could I say no)

I really don't like the thought of this bitch being shipped to a far away rescue when she has a loving owner desperate

to hang onto her. and esp her being a staff to add to the alreadt thousands banging their heads of kennel walls

ON THE OTHER HAND......I now have an extra dog, in the shape of a staffy

We'd all do the same tbh. Anyone who could leave someone distressed is pretty heartless. I cannot imagine any circumstances I would give my dog away so would deffo help someone else.

This actually swayed me....the refreshing change of someone being devestated and not wanting to give the dog away in the first place, and the fact they have never been off the phone asking how she is

Im still a bloody sucker, I now have 10 dogs and my doggy room is busrsting at the seams, and OH must have lost a few stone with the extra walks he is doing a day

no chance me loosing any, I eat to much

If they let dogs in he could come too with his little collecting tin but they are miserable sods and he's too big to hide in my handbag
