Thursday went XC training with the riding club, I was useless and extreamly worried about even the very small jumps so decided not to bother attempting them, so we just pottered around doing the ditches, sunken road and steps. Kane by the end was beside himself with frustration so my much younger braver friend got on and blasted him around the course, he was amazing and flew over everything!! Seeing a hairy cob jumping some of the rather scarey open jumps made everyone stop and watch!!! I was so proud I nearly wept but also extreamly annoyed with myself for being scared when he's honest, brave and wonderful!!
So Saturday I went around our little XC course at the yard and I made myself go over the tyres, logs and fallen tree and felt much better about it. I need to relax and trust him, when I panic and interfere he can't do his job and then leaps and that's what scares me! When I just let him go he's pure gold!!
Then yesterday loaded him up with a friends pony and went for a lovely potter on the beach!! One of my dogs came too and it was just luxury!! Gorgeous sunshine, not too many people around and the tide WAY out so we spent a couple of hours paddling and having lovely long canters (and gallops!) along the beach!!
So anyway just a pointless post cos I'm the proudest most grateful woman ever, I cannot believe this lad who I was told one day would 'kill me'!!! Has turned into the most amazing, brave and fun creature!!
2 weeks til camp....I can't wait!!!
And picture of his utterly appauling clip which was done in a rush wednesday night before XC training!!!
