Hi , I'm 41 and have only just got the chance too own my own horse .
I no that they are expensive things to own , but the cost far out ways the pleasure my storm gives me . Does that feeling ever go ?
I'm not into eventing or hunting just going out for hacks are what do it for me .
Storm is a 9 year old skewbald cob . Looks like a fresian cow from head on ,
I can't believe how quick I have fallen in love with him as he was only meant to be on loan and after two weeks i brought him now I can't bare to be with out him. :D

Oh that's fabulous!! I always say I'm a twelve year old pony-mad girl in a forty-something year old woman's body!! I hope my passion for horses and the pleasure I get from them never subsides. Who cares how competitive you are or what you do as long as you and your horse are happy?

Good luck with everything, I hope you have many wonderful horse-owning years of fun!!

Ahhh! Congratulations!!!!
I think when you have waited to have your pony it makes it all that more special and you never take it for granted. You will give storm a wonderful home. Have fun. X x x x

hi thanks for all the lovely messages . once iv worked out how to put piccies on i will do . storm looked beautiful in his new turnout rug today against the snow , he amazes me everyday and the trust is slowly coming . so i will keep everyone posted as to progress . as my boy hasnt got alot of confidence and needs a little tlc :D

After 30 years of my mother telling me i should sell the horses, i think i can safely say no that feeling never goes!! She would love it if i sold them, she says they take up too much time/money and think of all the things i could have instead, not one of which i WANT.
Enjoy your new friend.

Great post Stormieness!!! I got my 'forever' horse last year (after a 12 month chestnut witch nightmare) and I can tell you it just gets better by the day!!! Prepare to be totally and utterly head over heels with him!!! I'm 47 today :D (and a little pickled on champagne. :D )

Update :-)
Me and storm had an amazing day today , I rode him close to where I'm keeping him , I was cacking myself ......... But storm really looked after me , no bitting bucking spooking , and a big red tractor past him .
Without any problems at all , he is my lovely boy and the bond is getting stronger by the day ......

I am so pleased for you. It is a fantastic feeling and it never leaves you. All the hard work is so worth it, they give you their all and want very little in return. When life throws its worst at you, all you have to go is spend time with your horse and all of a sudden nothing seems to matter. Enjoy your lives together :)
