Had my energiser and brand new battery nicked last night along with another liverys!

Whats made me so angry is mysti has had to wait a few weeks to have her teeth done because my battery died and i had to buy a new one with the money id saved up for her teeth :@

I cant afford a new one, im absolutly ****ed!!!!

That's so annoying! What area are you in?
I hope the b****rds wire it up wrong and electrocute themselves

Near gravesend in Kent, 4 others gone from our yard in the last month

Thought mine would be okay as its only 10ft from a lived in caravan .. :|

It looks like this ..

Has a bit of wear on the top, few scratches and bumps. The battery is a 9V sits inside and the lid screws on. If anyone sees one for sale that matches the desciption lemme know :(

Always happens this time of year I always cover mine with an upturned bucket and cover the flashing light so it doesn't alert peeps that theres one there.

Hope you manage to sort something out

Ah, I lost 2 energisers when I had my place at Fawkham. I've got STOLEN FROM and the postcode engraved in mine now, highlighted by permenant black marker pen, so Dubsie, great minds obviously think alike!

That would drive me around the twist. If it helps, in the past I have used 'cast off' batteries from my local (very friendly) Land Rover garage - they're batteries that aren't much use in a car any more but carry enough charge to power a fence for quite a while. They give them away as it saves them taking them to the tip. In theory wouldn't last as long as the battery you had nicked but in practice might last longer purely by not getting nicked.....
No suggestions re the energiser though, sorry.

I got a cheap little solar panel to recharge my cheap ex-garage batteries. It's working really well, and it's engraved STOLEN... etc! My OH has also made me a lead I can plug into my car cigarette lighter to recharge batteries, I put the battery in the footwell, connect everything up and away we go.

Oh no (((((hugs))))) hope you get something sorted. I just can't believe some people.
We had some thieves once steal a load of horses rugs (all except Lucys they couldn't get near her it was when she was still quite wild :p) The owners went out and bought brand new rugs (although i told them not to as i knew what would happen ) Shore enough that night they came back and stole all the new rugs   But they must have been caring thieves as they put all the old rugs back on the horses

 Weve had turnout taken off, under rug nicked, and turnout put back on .. all on a v.spooky pony :p

 really?!

Ive got suspiscions, and they all fit the times. Cant prove anything though :(

Sadly, really. They also did other heinously appalling things to my field equipment (water bowser etc). Strangely they are not registered as a charity anymore.

I truly hope you get something sorted soon. If I had a spare one I would send it to you. :(

Poor pony. Atleat they didn't leave it cold. :o
All the other livery owners where so annoyed about there new rugs being nicked and the old ones being replaced but i said the thieves could have just kept stealing all the new rugs and leaving the horses cold. I think they where actualy more anoyed my rugs wern't stolen. (There have to be some perks of having a wild pony ;) :p :D :D)

a local stables near my old place had the rugs nicked off the horses and a few days later brazenly being worn complete with the stables giant painted postcodes on the side on the travellers horses down the road. She didnt confront them cos they werent very nice and the horses looked like they needed the rugs....blinkin cheek tho!

We had all our fields linked up to 3 batteries. They were all stolen a few days ago. Friends little (laminitis prone) pony got into the lusher grass, probably all day as no one found out until late afternoon/evening.....and he is now showing signs of lami!!!

We have now linked all the fences to one big battery and hidden it with bags of horse poo!! Bloody people :(

@ MF. May still be worth mentioning to the police. You may be able to persuade them to pay "said "personages" a likkle visit... If nothing else to put the wind up them / annoy them. The police may well just keep an eye on them for you. Have there been others in the area? Is there a particular reason they may have targetted you? All things you could mention to the Police.

They do have their uses occasionally. (said v tongue in cheek for any incredibly hard working police peeps out there. :) )

i know how you feel - the week after i brought my horse home last year some swine broke into our yard tackroom and stole every single saddle and bridle there - about 20 in all
were never recovered and my insurance didnt cover the theft - i was gutted

Lol i wonder why :p

Yeah no-one will lend me theirs - too worried it'll get nicked

Honeys already leaning over it :|

And LW :p Yes there are perks to wild ponies :D No-one could get near Honey in the field apart from me & my mum, Mysti however will do anything for food :o

Whaaaaay ahead of you ;)

Reported it as soon as we found out :D

Theres been 3 others go at the yard in the last month, was worried about mine as was 10ft away from the YO's caravan :o

That's really rotten. I hate thieves.

We've had things go missing at my barn but I haven't lost anything as yet (knock on wood).

Hope you're able to get a replacement somehow.

Trouble is you can't stop them, if they think there's something worth nicking they will, which is why we make it awkward to dispose of.

We also like making life difficult for thieves - caught some last summer in action at a neighbouring YO and they left the majority of their booty behind We had a visit in the dead of night a few Saturdays ago, nothing stolen as we've nothing nickable left out there. OH heard the chain on the gate of our field clank about 3.30am which it does loudly when someone climbs it (it's the other side of the house next door), so we got up to go and look. By the time we'd got dressed and got out there, the car they were in was over the road at our neighbours. So I phoned the police, and OH decided to get his van out and block the road (dead end). He was just walking down the side of the house to his van when the car came back up the road. So he went after it in the van to get reg details, which we passed to the police.

Anyhow the police came out in force to investigate (they'd just finished a high speed stolen posh car chase so were up to catching would be burglars), they stopped said car and the lady in it gave some cock nbull story about going to pick up her OH from a house where he was a DJ. The police knew the family (son in prison etc), and they think she'd left him behind when they sussed we knew they were out and about, so they left cars monitoring her at home and the poor chap :p had a long walk home (about 4 miles) across country!
