New livery that soaked my hay , has really done it now .

Went out to bring tommy in from the field for T to ride and found new liveries 2 horses which are geldings in with missy and tommy, Now as far as I was aware she was not to put them in until Yo got back from england on friday . I was not told she was going to put them in, I for one should have been there when she was putting them out .
Went out to catch Tommy , Missy and tommy were together when I went in , Watched as missy went over to other horse , tommy following behind missy , Liveries horse goes for tommy bites and kicks him , but poor tommy just wants to be with missy and goes back again at this stage I get hold of tommy and go to bring him out , Missy comes along too , then liveries horse goes for tommy again only this time , Tommy gets caught in the electric fencing ,I try to get him free of it when horse comes again, Only tommy gets away and knocks me flying as the electric fence is around the back of my legs , burns my legs (wasnt on ) and burns my hands , was so fooking sore

I now have 4 of my fingers in a bandage

... When I finally get him back , hes shaking and still wants to be with missy only Missy is quite content standing with the other 2 , Hes obviously lower in the pecking order now that these other 2 geldings is in with missy .

Im not going to seperate my 2 for the sake of this new livery , Plus we have been there longer and have been using that field , I dont see them having to share with any body elses horses ?

Im so peeved off right now , Ive had to leave tommy in the smaller paddock across the road for tonight as I dont want another fighting match .

This livery is a novice horse owner , who supposedly doesnt like brown horses , shes going to have to go into that field along with missy and missy is a horse that will come up to you and nudge you looking for feed plus shes only a baby .

Im so worried that everytime this livery wants to take her horse out that she will not be able to get missy back or that something goes wrong and missy gets injured (This field leads right onto a main road thats very busy .
Im sorry but we have had this field from day 1 , no one else has to share , if anything they would be better if they where in another field along with say 2 mares , or another 2 geldings .

And the fact that she didnt even let me know that she was going to put them out , whos going to fit the bill if anything happens ? especially that first introduction , well I say introduction, she just put them in along with my 2 and left them to it .

What would you say to this livery or yo ? Yo is in england at the minute but will be home friday , but it this way , the last time I said to her about the hay , her response was ..." shes a new livery , I wouldnt bother asking her to replace the hay , its only several bales , best just let it be "

Oh dear - I too would be really cross about this. Infact I think I would just casually ask the new livery tomorrow who told her to put her horses out with yours. Where have they been up till now?

Well according to yo , she had said she was going to put them out , I thought well ok , We can try , I was far from happy but at least I would be there to see how they would react first of all .

This is what has peed me off , she took her 2 horses into a field with 2 new horses that didnt have any introduction at all , both being 2 youngsters(mine) , 1 big youngster at that and her(livery) being very novice . I mean what would have happened if something where to go wrong ?? The more I think about it , the more angry , upset , worried I become , I just cant be doing with it right now

I would be peed off as well. As you say, who is going to foot the bill if her horses were to have hurt your 2. And if she is afraid of Missy anyway, what would she have done in the middle of that fight????

I think you need to talk to her and the YO, and explain that it is not on to just chuck horses in together and hope for the best.

I would be absolutely raging! That's how accidents happen.

Is there anything in your contract that states that it should be the YO who decides who goes in which field?
if not then that might be a good things to insist is added. It's awkward but horses safety comes first.

not much you can do now so try to chill out, i hope you feel better xx. Then when YO comes back make 'an official' complaint.

your telling me , Both of them will be showing this year and I really dont need any more accidents or mishaps .

Poor tommy is left in the paddock on his own tonight, I just hope he doesnt decide to jump out . He was unsettled when I left him , he was much worse in the stable as he was neighing and trying to put his 2 legs up onto the stable door :O

some people are just bloody stupid and thoughtless! i always do my best to give new horses an intro period over the fence of prospective pals, i like to be cautious and avoid these things so i say which horses are to be turned out where, if things change i like to inform owners and i boot up the horses - pedantic maybe but when we nail metal shoes on the chances of injury are bit too high to mess about! i would be upset too!

YO can think what she likes but at the end of the day you are paying her for a service and she has to keep your horses safe

You will just have to try and stand your ground on this one hon xx. (the hay was the start of it and you probably need to nip it in the bud)

Can't you take Missy out and put her in with Tommy?

Nope ravenwood , as it was getting dark when I came back , had to go sort out my hand at my mums, T was also in the field standing at the gate and the fencing caught him too , he had marks out his back also .

Ive never ever had any bother when its only been the 2 of them in the field .

Anyways result , I txt Yo and she sent me Liveries number , Rang her this morning and told her what happened and that she should never have put them in on her own in the first place, there was also no introduction period either, I should have been there or A should have been there ( A being friend that part owns missy ) and I told her that her horse had been bitting and kicking Tommy and it resulted in me moving him , She was very apologetic but I told her in my teacher type voice , " Look I understand your sorry but if something had of happened , who would have been paying for the vet bills ? Also missy is showing this season , I really dont need extra worries right now , also tommy is T's pony who also shows and if anything happens him , Well I dont really want an upset little boy on my hands "

So I have asked her to take her two out into the other field at the yard, until something else can be sorted , she has agreed , So Im waiting on hubbie to bring back the jeep as she was planning on bringing them in by herself

, It was at this point I explained to her , that someone needs to be there everytime she takes out her horses if other horses is going to be in . Its just too dangerous , she didnt even realise what age missy was . *insert rolling eyes icon*

It can take one wrong decision and of course shes scared of brown horses
confused.gif
and she could just burst out onto that main busy road , and well no imagination needed as to what would happen next .

So hopefully a result and some learning curves for livery .

Well I have been out to the yard and new livery had already moved horses despite me saying not to as missy would be left on her own , I asked her to wait until I got there , But anyways , I had a chat with her ... She had said she was sorry and that she was happy for her horses to stay in the field at the yard, I told her that was fine , She said her horse was very spooky going across the road and as she rides , she doesnt want to keep going across the road to fetch him .

She did seem genuine in that she was sorry and she thought they would all get on alright , I told her it wasnt an idea situation ( 3 geldings and 1 mare , 2 of the geldings already bonded which left tommy the one getting the kicking )

Anyways hopefully all sorted out this time .

Lovely picture of my poorly hand , its healing well , I also have 2 black legs this morning, you would think I went 10 rounds with some kick boxer

Sounds as if she just doesn't realise and needs guidance. I too would have been furious. Your fingers look painful.
