Got back yesterday night and frankly can't wait to be on my way again. Our new house is lovely, we're paying the same as here and it's twice the size. Have had 4 days unpacking and registering and things like that. Came back on the train last night, having left my car there. Now got to do a massive tidy-up operation on the lorry and get that ready to go! We're off on Saturday morning, hoping to get the 10 o'clock sailing, then should be at the horses' new yard by about 4 o'clock. The annoying thing is I now have to take a taxi to and from the yard, so am waiting till rush hour is no longer outside my door!

The good news is we got iternet yesterday at the house so I'll be able to update from there from Sunday! Have looked through posts and think I've caught up, but feel free to fill me in!

Competition-wise (seeing as we're in CR) the boys have just had a week off with me being over there, and riding them won't be my priority today or tomorrow, so L in particular will probably look like he's had 6 months off! I am thinking of taking them to a one day at the end of March, and then gearing up through April with the aim of an international or two in May.

Hope it goes well moving the horses x

Oooh, how exciting! Looking forward to lots of pictures and lots of reports. Would be very interested to hear about what it is all like over there. One question, isnt the standard of riding/general equestrianism much lower in Belgium? So my guess is that you will be winning a fair bit out there, and have a string of horses to compete before you know it!

Now see, what made me think you were in the lorry with all the boys last friday??

Ummmm.....

Anyway, shall expect an invite to your new gaff once youve settled in and if you want a groom Im happy to help

That's so exciting, oh yeah and stressful, but mainly exciting!

Good luck with it all and we look forward to hearing about how it's all going (just don't rub in how cheap it is to compete over there and how they don't ballot etc etc!)

Woohooo... will also be expecting pics!!!
If L doesn't like it over there, there's always a place for him here at mine, am sure he'll get on really well with Ernie

Good Luck with the rest of the move.

Replying to all here: Tbh it's really not been as stressful as I tought it would be. The worst bit now is sitting around in our house here (in England) with f all furniture! And no car! Got to the yard to day and the girl who'd looked after them for me all week thought they were leaving today and had given them a goodbye groom last night! I have never seen them gleam like that EVER! And that treacherous b*stard William apparently never once tried to bite or cow-kick her whilst she was brushing him.

Ouija_ Board - I wouldn't say the standard is much lower, certianly a lot less people ride than in England, but they have obligatory proficiency tests you have to pass before you can compete at any level. RC stuff is very big over there, they dressage up to AM and jump up to 130 week in week out. Eventing is definately the poor relation of the three Olympic disciplines, and when I lived there in the past I probably saw more unfit horses going xc than you would see here, but that's about it. A string of horses - that would be nice!

MdM: will keep you posted, I hope he won't be bullied in the field by all those foreign speaking horses.....
