I found 2 roundworm in my horses poo tonight and will be worming all the horses accordingly tomorrow.

I have just been doing some reading online though to find out that the life cycle of a roundworm is 3 months. I don't understand how he has adult live worms when he was wormed with equest when I got him in march.

What wormer would you be buying tomorrow?

Don't know about round worms but have had similar baffling things with juvenile pin worms. Worm count came back low, then live things in poo. Did a five day dose on vet's advice on the understanding that there was no plan b. very concerning. Sorry no help but I share your frustration.

Thanks, think I will give the vets a call tomorrow and have a chat with them. I just don't understand how he has adult live worms in his poo, does that mean the equest didn't work? Now I am worried about killing them all off too quickly and causing blockage or something.

Oh now I'm not so sure! He is 6 by the way. The only way I can describe them is that they looked like bean sprouts! I would be much happier if they were pin worms, have been worrying all night about him having round worms.

Thank you! Strange because I haven't seen him itching or rubbing his bum at all. Would these worms cause a bit of weight loss too? Should we do anything else like move fields? There are 5 horses who live out 24/7. Thank you so much for you advice!
