I've always jumped Roo in a dutch gag and flash noseband, she was strong and dragged me into fences and because that made me hold and not release she would then knock the fence down.
I've recently got her into a snaffle and a cavesson noseband for schooling and got her going nicely. Yesterday I wasn't planning on jumping but did end up doing some, (you may have seen the vids, there in PG) she didn't drag me, she didn't get strong, just a nice rhythm into fences and I made myself relax my hands because she was relaxed, no poles went down.
Do you think theres a reason why she is better in the snaffle? Is it because its softer, or is it just that I've managed to get her to listen to me?

I would say she has learnt her lesson, and realised that she isn't allowed to run into fences.
When you change tack etc. on horses you do it to correct their behavior, they don't always need it kept on from then on (some horses might) as you have successfully corrected it by changing the tack (does that make sense?? I have a feeling it doesn't

Well done, I would say you have done a good job training/correcting her

I changed my mare back from a kimblewick to a hanging cheek snaffle, and just lots of schooling helped!
Once she learnt to respect it on the ground it worked in the air too!
