I have spent the most amazing three days with my youngster and we have come so far. Today I am back at work - I feel like I am imprisoned. I have fallen out with the person sitting next to me and she has been making my life a bit difficult. I think she has some allies too as they are being a bit off with me - oh how I hate corporate politics!

I am just sitting here with a weird sad feeling in my tummy and its bothering me - you know that ridiculous paranoid feeling? I was quite close to walking out this morning

Don’t let the Bastards grind you down.

Just think when you leave work you can go and play with your gorgeous youngster....

I got drawn into some silly politics recently aswell and i can't let go of it, not sure why, its not like me. I have been waking up early worrying about it and its driving me crazy. It gives me that sinking feeling in my stomach as well.....horrible!

Hope your situation improves soon and you can ignore the silly numpties who are upsetting you.......i find absorbing myself in here and online horse shopping are the best help, unless i can go home and ride of course

sounds just like me at work too.
I'm not sleeping because of it, really dreading going back tomorrow. Does anyone know how easy it is to get a doctor's line as I'm getting really down with it?

Come on chin up and be strong, who needs jerkmoid colleagues like them anyway if that's how they make people feel, so there not worth bothering or worring about are they, your obviously a senstive and careing person which is why you feel like you do, so be proud of who you are but don't waste your feelings on them, save them for someone who deserves them.

Just concentrate on doing your job well (get some extra bonus points from your boss and work hard) and look forward to getting home and seeing to your horse etc and be proud of how well your doing with you youngster, you'll soon feel better then.

Don't let their problem become your problem Berkeley! Do they have a lovely youngster that they have fun with and are bringing on happily? Hugs to you anyway

Asset2004: Sorry to hear its bad with you - I am just getting silent treatment. These people are SO enthusiastic with themselves then when they talk to me it on syllable answers.

Re sick note: you can self certify for 7 days. Afterwhich you need a doctors certificate. Usually work related stress could warrant up to 8 weeks off. You can't be sacked as a dismissal related to your sickness could put employer at risk of possible unfair dismissal/discrimination claims. Statutory sick pay kicks in after the 4th consecutive day of being off sick at £79 per week.

Excellent advice Kenzo - you're right - although I am quite forward I am also really sensitive when it comes to these things. I am new in my job and people are all cliquey! BORRRRRRING!!! They are all so bl*ody precious.

Just remember....we work to live, not live to work....

...work is what we do inbetween horsey stuff...and you wouldnt have your horses without the job and the crapness that goes with it.

Have a hug, ferreo rocher and glass of wine....only 3 more days till the weekend hurrah!

Thanks for the info Berkley, I am really in two minds whether to go sick or not. I've already been in tears once today and that was before 9.30am.
I have a big meeting that I've been summoned to on Thursday and I'm really dreading it.
It's not like I'm new, I've been here 10 years but the stress I've been put under is enormous and now they are refusing to let me have holidays that I've given plenty of notice for is just making me even more upset.

Thanks also poppymoo, I need to keep remembering that :-)
