I'm FURIOUS!!!

See, I think that you need the next size up - seriously. Then put a normal headcollar on over the top.

Good advice about the headcollar!

He had the next size up last year for a few days, borrowed from a friend. It was huge on him, flopped everywhere, but it stayed on slightly longer. This one, he got fitted by the tack shop lady, and it seemed to be the perfect size. He had a Greenguard one (also borrowed) before. It ended up sideways beside his mouth. I think it's time I talked to the YM about Pony Jail again.

I really don't like that type of muzzle (pony didn't either lol!) It does look like it was a bit small for him though maybe?

I had huge success with the greenguard and special headcollar with my pony. Maybe give that a try?

Another BIG fan of the green guard type. Tried electric fencing, but, eventually he finds the weak spot or he just flings himself at it and keeps going until its demolished, cant keep him in - he's on his 3rd stable door as it is(even with a companion) but the muzzle although it p133533 him off means he can atleast have as much freedom to roam as his 2 mates.
Handy tip - keep a supply of electricians tape and chamois leather to make repairs and prevent any chafing also leather spur straps make good replacements for the actual straps that hold the basket piece onto the headcollar and get the proper headcollar to go with it.

Greenguard ended up sideways beside his nose. :o

Bills old one did that then he chewed through it ! the newer ones are more of a bucket shaped deeper basket a bit like a canine basket muzzle fitted quite snuggly he only managed to get it off once last season, although i,m not holding my breath as he's only had it on for 2days so far this year

Depends on the size... we ordered the new ones from Robinsons (who supply them) and found the large was the new shape but the small (aka pony) was still the same design as before :(
My friend's mare became distressed when hers got stuck in her mouth.

I had to giggle!

Just a thought, I would also let the manufacturer know that there is a serious flaw in there products...... the ripability when given to a determined horse :-)
