I'm getting there

After losing my confidence on my new ned to the point that I had convinced myself that she was too big for me and I would have to sell her. Well I am back on and have been riding most nights and she has been very good, very green but not bad.

Was really pleased tonight as had her in school and yo was in field next to school with huge trailer, two tractors and the quad fixing something not sure what happened but there was a big crash and all the horses in the field galloped past the school flat out all my girlie did was stand and snort, gave her a pat and carried on. Not bad for a baby horse who has only been back in work for a few weeks.

Think I might keep her. What do you think?

Keep her! If she's young and you're getting to know each other, there are bound to be a few hiccups and teething problems. Accept this for at least a year and as long as nothing really dangerous starts happening just keep working through the problems. If after a year you haven't clicked, I think its time to call it a day, but I bet you'll be working well together by then.

I bought a horse who was 2 years old (I was told she was 4), I looked after my friends horse at this time and she was a good rider so thought I will be ok, (only been riding a year), well friend moved away and I was left with my 2 year old. We are now 5 years on and we have fought quite a few battles and issues but we are still friends, we have needed lots of help and support in the 5 years and there has been a few times when I could have sold her but there was always a sensible side to her that would shine through and that sensible side now she is 7 is more constant, very glad I hung on in there, however, my hacking confidence took a knock but that is coming back slowly.
