I'm thinking of doing a mass tack stamping day based around one of the bigger yards in Oxfordshire so that you can have you postcode stamped on to your saddles. If there is enough interest I could probably arrange one in another county too.

Would there be much interest in this?

Synthetic saddles cannot be stamped in the same way as leather ones - you have two choices, either have it etched on a metal part (I have an etcher for this purpose) or insert data tags into the flocking (I sell these at cost and there is an annual registration fee)

Sorry to butt into your thread MH, it won't be treading on your toes down here - but, would anybody be interested in this service in Cornwall? have been talking to my saddler who would consider doing this.

You wouldn't be treading on my toes - I don't charge anything to do it after all.

If your saddler invests in some letter and number stamps they can tack mark to their heart's content - they just need the hammer!

If he takes my advice he will just stamp post codes - I did all the tack belonging to a local hunt three years ago - they wanted the full hunt name on every saddle - I did it but it took a looooong time

Draper letter and number stamps

Yes, he already has the stuff and he already supplies microchips for saddles etc. he would charge but it would only be a nominal fee.

I'd be very interested: I have two saddles I need doing. I'm on the Glocs/Warks/Oxon boarder. I have treid to find out if the local Horsewatch are doing something but i cant find out any info. Please PM me with dates and location........

Me and my friend have just had a wintec black 2000 stolen and a falcon hawk event brown. We are based in Bath and would be very interested in any tack marking events.
