 Seriously, if some had offered to take him away for free, Id have helped them load him.

Roo has been desperate, DESPERATE, to get into the fenced off hayledge for weeks now. Hovers at the fence everything I go in, tries to sneak through the gate when he thinks Im not looking and has tested the (strongly electrified) fence a couple time.

Well, he finally managed it. The electric tape blew down enough for him to get in and he had a jolly time spending all night doing this

He's wrecked 7 of the 10 bales. Didn't get pictures of the worst 2 as I've rolled them so the (huge) holes are at the bottom to let the rainwater drain out. The rest I've duck taped over: not sure what else to do with them?:(

And whilst I was busy trying to tape the holes over in the peeing rain, he was busy doing this

having a grand old time swirling the plastic about in the puddle.

It's not like he's hungry either, he already has an adlib bale in the feeder.

Bless horses !!!!!

duck tape is the way to go - small holes will be fine, maybe write on them the ones with the worst holes so you use up the most damaged ones first

Try a horse ball to keep him entertained?!"?

Yep they always want what they cant have :(

S would have done the exact same. Thats why we couldnt bulk buy hay this year and cover it as she would have pretty much destroyed every fence she could to get to the bales, electrified or not. Might be worth putting in wooden posts and rope/wire them to make sure the wind doesnt affect it as much, one of the major downfalls I find with tape is that the wind bellies and stretched it off the posts :(

Oh jeez OP, I really feel for you :( Haylage is at a premium here - 40 euro for a big bale. I only have one horse and 2 goats to feed but the unseasonable warm weather is playing havoc with it once it's opened although I only buy one bale at a time and it's under cover. I hope it's OK - I hate to see only a tiny bit wasted.
