So I had a lesson and a quick hack on him yesterday and he was great again

he hasn't grown another inch since I last sat on him

but he ticks all the other boxes so I made an offer on him which was accepted and a 5 stage vetting is booked for Thursday

I've never had a vetting done before so have been reading up a bit on the 'net but any tips etc - I will be there and I know the vet pretty well..

I wont post any pictures because I don't want to tempt fate and also only have a video of me on him atm and don't know how to get stills from it anyway

Keep your fingers crossed for Thursday!

my fingers are crossed for you i had the horse i am buying vetted last monday and i have to say i could not be there i would have found it too stressful and i didn't want to influance (sp) either parties. it took an hour and half and the vet phoned me.
he said that the horse had mild sweet itch and was green both of which i knew as the dealer was very honest (honestly found an honest dealer) but he said the horse was lovely, which i of course knew.
it cost £218.00 and the dealer said the vet was very good and nice guy which is what you need.
then two days later i got the form in the post.

i wish you the best of luck i am here if you need to get nervous but i am sure it will be grand.

Thanks for info, don't think I could wait for the phone to ring with results, would rather be there lol

Yes, I'm getting nervous, impatient and excited already - how can I wait until Thursday?

I think it's best to be there as you can see anything the vet highlights and discuss the implications with him. The main thing to remember is that no horse is perfect and you need to consider whether this horse fits the bill for what you want to do - what is one person's problem is not an issue for someone else. Also, the vetting is only good for the day it is done, it is not a guarrantee of soundness for the future.

Fingers crossed for you!!
