So I did go to France and left Claire to manage and Penfold did the BRC champs 3 day event. He had a bleed after Aston , we had him scoped found he displaces his palate and had an infection. He had a short course of antibiotics [ did not want to give anything illegal] and put on a grackle.
Friend put him in a tongue guard as tongue ties are not allowed. She phoned me to say the open course was tough and they were told to take the long route at one fence.
Anyway he was going the best he has ever gone, never made the gurgling noise which means he has displaced, she went the straight route where she was supposed to go long route and was well up on time........until 3 from home when he lost his breath and had to stop , he swallowed and carried on but it happened again at the 2nd from home, he swallowed again and then jumped the last two.
Next day he past the vet check and show jumped but again lost power at the end and had the last two down . Still the team came 5th and were the best team counting all 4 scores [ think they were the only team with 4 scores to finish] and received a lovely trophy but she had to be at work for a night shift and couldn't wait for prize giving. shame.
So he looks great but has to have another scope to see if there is still any infection and if he can continue to event.

Today my first day back our old pony has colic , I think Penfold has been allowed out on the better grass to recover and Corrie, our old pony has to go with him and I think she has gas .The vet has been and she has had finnadine[sp] I have to go to work at 3 so I have popped home to get changed and eat then going back to her and then to work [ have some one calling every hour to see if she gets worse until 5pm when Claire finishes teaching at PC camp and can be with her. So vibes for our lovely Corrie, retired but she was a great pony as you can see.
