I'm ignoring HHO being stupid to ask a question please

Does anyone know where we can get hold of a big bag of grit in Lancashire? For cheapish obviously

I've had a good look online and most places seem to only do sacks of the stuff to buy in bulk, for a fortune. I'm thinking like a half tonne bag or something, like the building sacks? Or can you get it straight from a quarry?

A bit random i know, but need to be more serious about finding some now the winter is coming properly.

Erm out of the nearest huge container that council leave lying around all over the place?? Can't you get it cheap from a builders merchant or something?

Ah well HHO made me look a bit crazy there- i swear before only MrsM's reply showed up, i checked twice

We considered pinching some out of the grit bin at the bottom of the lane, as will be doing the lane anyway so i don't crash and die. But i think we would need too much and they might notice it needing refilling every day.

Will have a ring around some building suppliers then, thanks. Just wasn't sure if they would use something like that, i don't associate it with builders but i guess they might. Thanks for suggestions so far =)

p.s: YEY for HHO being back to a reasonably functioning level

Any building supplies or agricultural supplies place should have plenty of grit in small bags.
