Just found out the House which backs onto the stables are having a display tonight (very nice of them to pre warn us though) so off to camp out at the yard! Have my hot chocolate and thermals ready to go!! I wasn't at this yard last year, but according to my YM the fireworks are so near and loud it sounds like the yard is being bombed!! Just hope Ruby is ok!

Take a radio with you, sometimes it helps to dampen down the noise. That way its not sudden bangs over silence.
Good luck.

Our neighbours at the stables had their fireworks and bonfire last night my 3 horses were very laid back, little Roley was stood at his stable door watching them like an excited child.

I'm sorry but I am so fed up with people letting off fireworks whenever they feel like it. We have had them for the past 2 days and I thought tonight might be quiet. Big mistake. Going off everywhere and my poor dog is a nervous wreck even with sedation. Really had enough of it - s0 much so I am moving way out into the back of beyond to get away from people who think its ok to let off explosives without warning any time day or night. Bonfire Night is November 5th and that is the only day that fireworks should be let off. End of!

My old terrier is really nervous of fireworks, but I think I made a mistake somewhere along the line and mollycoddled her into thinking it was scary. Does that sound right (been at the pub today )

However, we had a display about 500 m from the house on friday, and because we just didn't react, Percy pup just slept through it. BUT that display was about 20m from a field of horses, and the council still went ahead with it.

Good luck, we had our big village display last night. Mine hate it but weren't too bad last night. I left them out and brought them in when it had all gone quiet out there.

Put some classical music on repeat on a little portable CD player or the radio on for some background noise ... two large haynets with carrots and parsnips hidden in them .... stay out of the way and stop fussing and im sure they will be a lot less worried than you think they will be :D

Didn't even need to be there. She was absolutly fine! Out of the 22 Horses at the yard there were only 2 that were really frightened.
