Currently having to inject 20ml antibiotics into horse at the minute. am doing so every 3 days but everytime he is being injected its swelling...he has never reated to injections of anytype before. Although I did notice when vet did same injection he swelled afterwards too. Would you be worried or is it due to the volume of drugs

Ring your vet and ask. Some horses develop allergies to intramuscular antibiotics and the reaction in VERY rare cases can be explosive behaviour by the horse and very dangerous to the handler.

is it just the liquid from the injection that is puffing out the site area for a few minutes immediately after injecting, and then being absorbed reasonably quickly, or is it a reaction later to the content of the injection? if the latter, i'd check with the vet, definitely.
