This is going to sound really cheeky, but is there somebody out there who wants to own a top-class show horse (that has the potential to go to HOYS 2007), but doens't want to look after it themselves. Perhaps an elderly person who loves the life of being an owner, or a younger person that likes the glitz and glamour of the showing world, but feels their skills aren't up to producing a winning show horse.

I'm offering someone a chance to purchase a horse that i worked with at my old yard and since having left that job i am now trying to set-up my own business. However plunging all my money into the buiness means i have no money to afford this beautiful riding horse that will be coming up for sale soon. I would offer the person that buys this horse the opportunity to own a winning show horse without the hassle of looking after it day-to-day (No need to muck out in all weathers!). I would produce and compete their horse for them, and they would collect all prize money and trophies.

If you know of anybody that may like the sound of what i'm offering then please let me know. My e-mail address is:- anweng1@hotmail.com

I understand that this may seem awfully rude and cheeky of me, but as i was once told. There's no harm in asking - the worst people can say is NO.

Thank-you for taking the time to read this post and i look forward to hearing from you.

horsey people are poor, you should consider posting this on a forum for rich oil barons or something

It looks as though you already have eventers and compete. I was very lucky to be given a chance to compete as a trainee at my last job but my boss took the Mickey, so i left. I'd like someone to buy this horse cause i fell in love with her and don't want her to fall into the wrong hands. she's a mare that needs a gentle hand. call me selfish if you want but i'm only asking.

LOL are you being serious?

You are 'offering' someone the chance?

Erm wouldnt it be all their hard earned money buying the horse?!
And this one horse inparticular? Wow what a 'chance' for someone!
Hmm.

If you find someone really wealthy that can buy your showpony and Boss's eventer with a bit of cash spare I could do with a second horse for hunting

Your post didnt offend me , I just wasnt sure if you were joking!

I wish someone would buy me a superstar horse to compete too!

LOL Rosie....get in line!

and whilst they're at it, perhaps some old granny wants two adoptee grandchildren, all they require is a top class show pony (I can point them in the right direction) and 'granny' can come and watch her grandkids having fun.........

i dont get it... so they buy the horse (an expensive horse) just to muck it out each day so you get to ride it? thats hardley fair

Perhaps some people posting here dont understand that a lot of people who have no riding aspirations still want to compete and they do this through ownership. I have an owner who asks me to ride and compete her horses because as much as she loves to ride, she has no competition ambitions and realises that her horses enjoy their parties.
The OP is only asking because she feels very strongly about this particular horse.
How many people post on here about sponsorship? Thats basically the same thing!

OK, so some of us spill blood to keep our horses, but this person, I think, was trying to be polite and as she said, the worst that can happen is she is told no.

Some of the remarks are a bit hurtful, considerably more so than a 'sorry, no' and the OP has remained polite and apologetic.

I wish her luck.

Whilst I see no problem in asking for backing in this way, wth no offence intended, the OP does not sound experienced enough to produce and take the horse to HOYS - if was going to buy a horse for someone to produce and compete for me, I would want them to have a track record

Quite right, but I don't think she needs to give her credentials out on the open WWW. If anyone reading this is genuinely interested then they can contact her and take it from there! I admit to thinking "Uh Oh" when I started to read her OP, but she sounds genuine - I wish her all the luck in the World!!

I totally agree, when I read the opening I title I did genuinely think it was a fun joke.

I used to work at a yard that produced horses and the lady I worked for had a lifetime of experience and a very very good track record, but even she wasnt bought horses of her choice by a wealthy person to show and produce and for them to 'watch'.

she was sent horses to produce, but she had the facilities, her own large yard etc, to do all the traiing because it was her job.
She broke horses, retrained, produced pointers, eventer etc etc.

There are so many professionals out there to produce horses that I find it very unlikely that a wealthy person would buy an expensive horse and risk sending it to one person, who (I could be wrong) by the sounds of it isnt in the producing business and doesnt have the facilities.

Just my opnion.

I agree but what shouted a lack of experience to me was that OP has only this one horse in mind, not just any horse to produce which would have sounded more credible to me....unless Ive read it wrong.

Agreed - naivety, which is in a way endearing. However, if she does find someone to buy this horse - they don't have to let her ride it - sad but true!

Good luck

I'm not sure anyone would go for this horse in particular, though? I would think and owner would like to pick their own ponio, but maybe post on the competing thread saying that you're looking for a sponsor?
