Yesterday I handed in (well emailed in) my notice at the racing yard I worked at. I was meant to go back today after having 9 weeks off due to dislocating my shoulder but a lot of people there have been quite nasty about it saying I'm milking it and just generally not being very nice. I was going to go back and hand my notice in then work until Saturday but I can't face going back there, I know I'll just get grief off them. I sent someone a text to let them know I wouldn't be in today nd that I'd send an email and they could call me if they wanted but to be honest I doubt they'll actually care very much. I dont need to be told that it's not the right way to go about it, my mum has done that enough already, but I have been dreading going back for a few weeks now and then this job came up.

So, me and Ethel are moving to Newmarket :) I will be living with people I used to work with and Ethel will be staying at their yard across the road. I will be working for someone who I have wanted to work with for a long time now. The only bit I'm not looking forward to is moving away from home but I'm 19 now and think it's about time I moved out!

So, if there are any Newmarket people here who want to be nice and tell me where all the good hacking etc around there is then I'd appreciate it :)

On the assumption that you will be working on a training yard you may be able to register your horse as a trainers hack and get a permit so that you can ride all over Newmarket Heath. The big advantage of Newmarket is that you have got excelent 24/7vet practices/hospitals in the area.

oooh sounds like a great opportunity! Its very exciting living on your own for the first time, enjoy the freedom!
Good luck with the move, im sure you and ethel will be much happier!
