.....Shes been in 6 weeks and just at the start of this week....I thought enough was enough, She had a trauma to the hind leg and suffered a blood clot in and around the fetlock, Vet came this week to scan her a second time , She was put out the day before the vet came, Vet noticed a big difference in her ie ... the swelling was away down and the blood clot had been dispersed .

I never told the vet I had put her out and I have been continuing to put her out, She has physio and is doing very well, Swelling keeps going down and with that I have a more settled and happy 3 year old .

So no shooting from me either

When my (second childhood) veteran damaged his hind check lig box rest was advised, he was depressed and anorexic so turned him out. Follow-up scan showed excellent healing, so admitted I'd turned him out. This time, he's fractured a hind splint bone (surgical removal) and he actually stayed in for 5 weeks (vet said she'd settle for 10 days, given his history) and he's healed just as well. Go with what horse can cope with.
