cheer up hun you just have to keep on going your horse wont go round untill he is able to balance himself he will go round if he is held in but it's not the right way to go just ride him in the school with long reins sitting trot all the time and try get him to balance and listen to your seat, try get some lessons with an instructor and remember unless he is off his forehand and working uphill he wont be working properly and it wont happen over night
Sorry you feel bad, try not to let those comments get to you.
Yes you might have needed them at the start to get the desired outcome, but if they were not tight or pulling then he's not relying on them and will most likely go well without them too.
By the way, can I join your group 'yes it is an arab and yes I intend to jump it and no I am not mad'! So true!
Don't know what to say about that one.....
Why did you need the draw reins in the first place????
Sorry but i am not a big fan of them, and don't think they should just be an option because your horse is not schooled very often
They are just a quick fix, and not really even that
Sorry if people disagree with my opinion but i always find a drawreined horse/pony stands out a mile
Take time to school properly without the use of gadgets and get some lessons, it will be a longer process but you will both learn from it and you will become a better rider for it.
Show your friend you can do it for yourself
i say i didnt school i have had a menage for 5 years in schoool everyday doing walk trot cant and movements- balanced - he is just not as schooled as all of my other friends horses - he wasnt even relying on them not as if i had his head pulled under like i said they were not tight and was only a lunge line
thing is i gave up jumping after my big bay with tack on in picture flipped on me - and was battered and bruised for weeks - so thought i would try dab hand at some showing next year
