It's been a very long haul with beau and his foot op. It's been nearly a year since we find out he had a keratoma. Had it removed in Feb. he had other issues that was being dealt with. Sidebones forming, compasltely sp ?? Though out his body for the foot and flareup of his arthritis.

Roll on nearly 9 months later......yesterday was the happyness day!!! We had been given all clear by the vet to start riding again!!! I was just so happy as now he sound finally!!!

I hug the vet then jump up and down on the spot cried a bit too!! Just so happy now!! Makes me now think less of the ex stuff!!

My vets, friends and my farrier have been fab and support us thoughout all of this!! A very big thank you!!!

Now I just got to get him fit and pray he doesn't explored!! Don't fancy eating mud!!!

fab news.

how did you find out it was keratoma? Was he going lame? how has the treatment been?

I have heard its very stressful on owners to keep it clean etc.

Thank you guys. It just doesnt feel real!! He kept getting abscess in that foot. After others issues with old vet and farrier I change new farrier found it got it xray it was pushing into his pedal bone!!! Yes it was very stressful luckly I had fab support from vet and farrier. After getting used to cleaning it I had chil out a bit not as panicing when he first came home.

The foot heald really well and quickly. I don't regret going ahead with the op. It wasn't cheap as he wasn't coverd on insureance. If you look at my other posts there are photos of it.
