I'm sure you posted this as a joke - but actually it isn't funny or clever.

Any interference with the legal process - threats to him, baying masses at Court buildings, for example - will only endanger the processes, they won't bother him.

I have no doubt at all that he is every bit as evil as he appears to be, and that the RSPCA are every bit as incompetent as they appear to be - but it is early days, very few of the details are in the public domain - things are being said on this forum which I know to be untrue but seriously am not at liberty to correct.

Collecting funds for the charities looking after the horses is great, press campaigns are terrific and even a peaceful demonstration at Courts would be impactive but the long term plan and determination has to be that THIS NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN.

IMO this should lead to pressure for a review of the RSPCA, of how Animal Crime is investigated and whether the Police would be the better agency with primacy (liaising with welfare charities for specialist support), and further reviews of information sharing between agencies.

The Watcher - you are the voice of reason, thank you for posting this. Many things will I am sure come out in due course and we should not blame the authorities until it is clear from the facts that they are to blame. Our aim is as you say, to prevent this from happening again. You make some very interesting suggestions and obviously know the legal / procedural issues well. Please continue to help if you see us with lesser knowledge making mistakes. I for one would hate to prejudice the outcome of any court case or inquiry.
