Im 5'3" and really struggling to find a decent pair of chaps or gaiters. I have given up on long boots as i cannot afford to buy a custom pair.
I dont have overly large calves but everything is either over my knee or so long they dig into the back of myleg.
Anyone else have these problems, or any suggestions?

Thanks =)

It depends on their quality obviously, as i dont want to shell out on a pair that lasts 5 mins!
Prob about £40, but maybe more if theyre decent

Im 5'4'' but have very short calfs. I have kids chaps but for long boots i have 2 heal lifters (mh) and an insole and they are the right length for me then but i have some ssc 14yr old chaps which were £20 they are super

I'd recommend the tredstep chaps - i'm a lot taller then you, but they do their sizes by length and width so you should be able to find one to fit you. They last forever and are really comfy, mould to your leg really quickly - think they're about £55.

Sorry for the blatent lack of info before!
Basically, i havent ridden in 6 years and i have just got a rescue pony (with the help of my boyfriend and his family).
They are basically for every day riding, but as she is stabled on a stud and livery yard (where i currently work), i need to look relatively smart. In otherwords no multicoloured childrens chaps if you get the idea =)

I am a shorty - 16 inch length of calf

I have lovely leather gaiters by tredstep, they are quite expensive, but very nice and smart enough for competition.

I did have a pair of mountain horse elite ones before which were also smart, but being fakey leather they were cheap too. I used these in comps and people commented that they didn't know they weren't leather, they also gave good grip

Equitector boots come in all shapes and sizes, but I haven't seen any close up to say whether they nice or not.

If the chaps are for every day riding i have a pair of loveson sueade chaps, im 5'5 but with short legs and those are so comfy. They arnet long and dont dig in to the backs of my knees and are nice and stretchy. They look smart and they wash up well in the washing machine. Best bit is even though they are sueade i only paid about £25 for mine.

As some people have already said Tredstep are brilliant, have loads of different sizing options. I now have a smart leather pair for competing and a suede pair for everyday wear. They tend to be expensive but look nice and are good quality. I would reccomend the leather ones over the suede ones though.
