My sister has been moping about all morning "what can I do, I'm bored" So I sent her out for a hack on Bec's old ginger mare, Daisy.
She came back really upset- a woman who lives on the bridle path had told Alicia she was under no circumstances allowed to ride the bridle way up hill, as it brought all the mud from the track onto her drive, which the gardener had just powerhosed, and how dare a young lady of Alicia's age be so disrespectful and knowingly bring all this dirt into her home!?!?!
Am I out of place thinking this woman is a twisted old cow that is short of something to do.
My sister is the most quiet, well spoken, well mannered, innocent 14 year old I have come across yet, always shuts gates, careful where she hacks etc etc, and this silly woman has really upset her.
I am now going to make a point by riding all of the horses through her driveway in the direction in which she told sister not to ride to see whether she says anything to me. We had a spat back last year when she demanded I get off my horse and clean up the droppings my horse had left the day before. It wasn't actually my horse who had done it, but out of morals I argued it out on behalf of whoseever droppings they were, because people leave droppings up our lanes all the time- I wonder how many riders actually care to carry a poop a scoop out hacking with them?
So tomorrow sister and I are going to prove our point.
