Just need to share my happy news after a very tiring day!
Iv spent the whole Day moving and settling my new horse! Iv been trying to get her for months and finally iv got her!
I still can't quite believe it! But saying good night to her tonight was a good moment.
Looking forward to her meeting the rest of the herd!

Thanks for reading I was gonna burst if I didn't tell anyone!!

Congratulations - what's her story, why did it take months to get her? I can still remember my first day with my new boy and that was nearly 5 years ago, it is just so exciting and special. Here's to a happy future together.

Zeus is doing ok! He's recovered from the surgery, but now has a tendor problem! So has been on box rest for a month, today had scans and xrays. Hopefully we have it under control now, but another week on box rest before we know if the treatment has worked. Fingers crossed, as theres no way we will put him through an operation again!

Yep all worked for me, awww she's lovely! Hope you have lots and lots of fun! I remember when I got my girl 3 nearly 4 years ago, couldnt stop smiling, the YO said my smile was as wide as the Mersey!

Thanks everyone!!

How I met fluffy! (Beware! I may go on and on and on! But you asked for it lol)

A few years ago we moved Zeus to a new yard... I wandered round the yard and saw this big beautiful black beauty look a like in a stable... Instantly I thought " now that'd my type of horse!!"
I soon learned this was the horse with the awful reputation, she kicks she throws people off, no one can ride her, the list goes on!!!

After a few months the owner asked me if I wanted to ride her... Why not! I thought, I like a challenge!
I was told she had been professionally dressage schooled in Germany and had competed in jumping over 1m+ fences up untill about 5 years ago.
So I started from scratch, leading her out, Lunging, long reining.
I finally got to the stage where I was happy to ride!! Omg you know when the moment you sit on a horse and know it's going to he good, that's what I got!! Her trot was amazing! Her canter like a rocking horse!! Just amazing... A few weeks later... Im pregnant. All work stops :(

Her owner continued to hack her but was increasingly running out of time for her, and she slipped back into being a field ornament.

I moved away, desperately thinking of ways I could have her.. a year and a half later I moved back... (This January)

I got a text from the owner. "Come and see fluffy!" So after agreeing over the phone is ride her when I had the time I went to see her.
I found this skinny wooly old looking horse with every bone on show!
I felt heartbroken, it was black beauty at the end of the film looking half dead!!
So I spent months feeding her up, back checked, saddled checked the lot!
She's a challenging ride so we had a fed stops and starts and a few confident wobbles but we progressed and I even looked at a few show schedules!
My circumstances changed again, and I found my self too busy to visit 2 different stables look after 2 kids and have a job! So after convincing myself, now I'd got her back on track someone could carry the work on. That was 2 months ago.. I didn't dare go see her, is heard she wasn't being fed and Had been left in the field. No grass and a 18hh bully!

Last weekend I got a phone call, hi, do you want fluffy on a full loan type, you can move her to where Zeus is!"
Well no need to say anymore, I was instantly on the phone sorting it all out and I spent 45 mins this morning trying to coax her on to a trailer! She hadn't left that yard in years I was so pleased when she loaded!!

I hope she calms down and we are able to go to shows and maybe try her at xc, she's 16 years young, and I love her even if she scares the life out of me some times!

That's lovely! So pleased you have her. My only reservation, and sorry if I have this wrong, is that you loan her rather than own her. Be careful that you don't get her right again and then the loan comes to an end. Can you buy her for a nominal sum? xx

I totally understand! But it's a risk I'm going to take for now, just hope my hard work and persistence pays off for me in the end :)

Thanks for all the nice comments too :)

Please offer her like £5 for the mare ... Then u know she won't be going anywhere .. U really deserve a happy ending ( and does the mare by the sound of it) she looks a lovely mare and hope u have lots of fun with her ;) .. Give Zeus a pat from me ..as he is my favourite forum horsey ;)
