some people are sooooo incredibly STUPID!!!!!! Ive had an advert up for a little while not and 101 timewasters (as posted previously-cant remember my login so set up a temp account so I could post this to relieve some stress!!) anyway........I got the most ridiculous reply of all today .. so you can see how silly it is, here is my ad

RE-ADVERTISED DUE TO TIMEWASTERS White and blue colt with two blue eyes.He Was born in may 06.To make approx 12.2hh.I bought him as a project to bring on for my son but have since started full time university as a last minute decision so no longer have the time he needs. He is halter broken, will tie up nicely to be brushed and fussed.Wormed/passported. He is a lovely pony who would be a great project for someone who has the time for him.To good home only.NO TIMEWASTERS!

and this is what I was emailed today......

HI I WAS WONDERING IS THE HORSE BROOK AND CAN U RIDE IT

spot the obvious stupidity

OMG I really hope that was a joke, if it isnt I really wish there was an IQ test to log into horse selling/buying sites! or a horsey questionaire!

I replied by copying and pasting my ad and highlighted his age and the halter broken bit and said nothing else. I know Its a bit rude but Ihave no time for eejits like that!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolute classic! Sorry but that made me lmao!!!!!!!

Seriously though- I guess it's a difficult time of year to be selling an unbroken youngster; I really hope the right person comes along soon

Me too-its hard enough as it is and this has worried me even more about the hands he could end up in :-( im not in a big rush to sell but the sooner I can find him a good home the better it is for both him and me.

hehe, some people just shouldnt have horses!! Im assuming this might be A) first time buyer and doesnt have a clue or B) looked at his price and not his description!!!!!!

I had the same when selling a 2 year old welsh A.

I know some people who break them in a ride them/jump them etc at this age-but I just dont understand why, they are still babies and have many years yet to do that stuff :-(

Aww, bless, its going to be a little girl looking through the ads and day dreaming. She probably does notunderstand the term 'halter broken'. She mightthink that her parents would buy the pony, or she could save her pocket money for him.

Trouble with advertising on the net is that e-mail is free to send. That is why I advertise through ad trader because the buyers pay for a premium rate phone call to contact you. This weeds outthe kids and the numpties!

I put one of mine up for sale,
and i have given up on replying to emails, if there really intrested they will call, im fed up with silly question and not just that you spend most of the time typing saying about your horse for them not to get back to you, or then they say something like will you drop on the price when they havent even seen the animal

"or then they say something like will you drop on the price when they havent even seen the animal"

That really, really winds me up.

He he, people don't read ads do they?! That's crazy. I had someone phone up about a pony I was selling, 4yo been backed 3 months and just begun going out jumping little courses - they said "she cant be very scopey can she if she's only jumping .... height" OMG!

I sold a just backed younger a few years ago. I was very clear in the advert about the pony needng an experienced home. The number of calls I got from families who have never had a pony or horse and who want it for their kids first pony was amazing. I refused to sell him until I found someone experienced enough to cope. Heave only knows what would have happened to him if I had.

i do wonder wat sort of people are out there, wen i was searching the horsemart ads other day there was an ad that read, 18mth old, been sat on by the kids, i had to email them just to see if i herd right and ask them to just tell me the age again, and was it right, got no reply, hhmmm

I got fed up with all the stupid emails people sent me when I was selling. They seemed to expect me to type out a 1000 word essay on the pony.

After the initial enquiry I used to email back 'please ring me for more ingo'. Invariably they didn't.

One did though and asked why I had left it so late to back my recently turned 3yr old! A little ashamed to say she got short thrift, and I her told her she wasn't suitable owner!!
