Im struggling to get straw thought hay was going to be the issue!!!!

I have managed to get big round bales of hay delivered for £13 a bale! Its really nice hay. I was paying £20 last year. However i cant get straw anywhere!! I did call one place and was quoted £4 a small bale or £20 a big bale. I was paying £8 last year. ANyone else had this problem or am i calling the wrong places??!!!

Yep. straw is in short supply, I'm currently paying £2.50 a bale - it was £1 last year. Luckily I have rubber matting so don't use much.

Hay crop down about 50% here and a lot of straw going to 'green' power stations, have been sold on 5yr contract at set price! So large bales here £30 and in short supply. Hope it's a short winter

Don't tell me this! Big round bales of hay are at least £55 down here in Kent! For that price the nags could sleep in hay as far as I'm concerned. Sob!
