Went to get horses in about 3.30pm (had afternoon off work) and Pidge was stood halfway down the field looking very miserable, Sunny was munching grass quite happily. Get to Pidge to find he has grown by 3" BAD BAD mummy didn't grease feet before turning out this morning as they were fine yesterday

Reluctant to move but did eventually with a seriously p***ed off look on his face. Sunny came in fine with no probs. Most of it had come out by the time we got in the barn. swapped rugs and fed and bedded both.
Pidge then scrapped his bed for a good 5 minutes but no rolling, cue mummy thinking colic colic colic............. especially as he had been in for nearlly 2 hours and no sign of any poo

he normally poos for England! Finally did a poo cue mummy very relieved, friend is checking on him when she gets to yard later. Is this divine retribution for not greasing his feet? God why do they cause us so much worry?

I know what you mean - YO bought her hrses in (they are in menage as do not want to get feet dirty!) at 2pm - the rest treked over to gate and whinnied - So had to get them in - hose frozen so no cleaning legs, but none of mine like to be in stabel and I worry that they will have to spend 18 hrs in there? Am I too soft???

I didn't grease Daisy yesterday because it didn't look too bad when I turned her out, she had a huge snowball in one foot and could barely walk but was her normal self again once I'd removed it and she had her hay.

He'll be fine, he won't be blaming you for the situation

Thanks, was just so worried for a while because he loves rolling and its so not like him to scrape for 5mins and not roll! normally its a quick scrape and then a good roll or even no scrape at all! Was so relieved when he did a poo, but will be even happier when I get to the yard in the morning to find he us ok!
